Today we held our first day of the Central District Summer Symposium. Approximately 60 beginning teachers attended on their Summer vacation to acclimate themselves to the teaching profession. They got great goodie bags filled with t-shirts, books, supplies, and information supplied by Kahikukala supporters Ohana Daze and Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estates. Mahalo to Ohana Daze and Kamehameha Schools for your support as well as Education Works, Mililani Mauka Mc Donalds, and Pizza Hut Inc for supplying Door Prizes.
Today's agenda was filled with learning about the Kahikukala Program, a pep talk by Complex Area Superintendents Patricia Park and Dr. Teri Ushijima, Personnel Issues by PRO Bob Davis, the Hawaiian Culture by Aaron Mersberg and Colleen Robinson, and closed with a session that enabled them to receive tips and resources from classroom teachers. A great day was had by all!!!
We are all excited for day two tomorrow! See you all there!!!
